Chicken Quesadillas
Want to make Chicken Quesadilla in Indian style? Try this recipe, it is so delicious, you would love it. For all my friends who want to try a great Mexican recipe with the ingredients available everywhere in India.
Ingredients
For Making Flour Tortillas
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter Room temperature
- Water as required for kneading
For Preparing the Filling
- 200 gms Boneless Chicken
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 cup Onion Chopped into small pieces
- 1/2 cup Tomato chopped into small pieces
- 1/2 cup Capsicum chopped into small pieces
- tsp Crushed Black Pepper
- tsp Chili flakes
- 2 cups Shredded Cheese
Instructions
Making Tortillas
- To a clean bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt
- Drop the unsalted butter and water
- Pour enough water to knead the flour
- Knead for 10minutes to make into a smooth dough
- Make small balls from the dough
- Onto a silicon mat, put a little flour and place the small dough ball on it
- Using a rolling pin, roll the dough evenly into tortillas
- After rolling, put the tortilla into the hot pan
- And let it be for 10seconds on each side
- Flip it over
- If you want, you can apply a little oil on top of the tortilla while the other side is cooking
- Flip it over again until both sides have brown spots and the tortillas are cooked well
- Yummy Tortillas ready
Preparing the Filling
- To a pan, drop the chicken pieces, water, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala, and pepper powder
- Stir well
- Close and cook for 15-20minutes until the chicken pieces are cooked well
- Then take the pieces out of the gravy into a different bowl and shred into small pieces while hot
- To the pan, pour 1tbsp of Olive oil
- Put onion, stir for 2min
- Then to it add tomatoes and capsicum pieces, stir well
- Once all the veggies are half done, add the crushed black pepper,chili flakes and salt
- Mix everything well and stir for 2 more minutes
- Then take it off the pan
Setting the Quesadillas
- On medium flame, To the pan with a little oil place the tortilla
- On top of which, put shredded cheese, spread it all over the tortilla
- Then on to half of the tortilla, over the cheese, place the cooked chicken and vegetables(like a semicircle)
- Fold the tortilla closing the end with chicken and veggies
- Close the pan and let it be there until the cheese melts
- After a minute or two, open and flip it
- Again after 1minute, take it off the stove
- Yummy Chicken Quesadilla ready!!!
